Eliot Institute is a gathering of Unitarian
Universalists and their friends and family from all over the Pacific Northwest and around the world. Click here to read our principles and values.
Eliot
consists of four camps
each year, three week-long conferences in summer and a five-day conference to
celebrate each New Year. All camps have a full morning program for children and
youth from infants through teens.
Camps
are held at two locations: Seabeck Conference Center on
Housing and Fees: Your
choice of housing for conferences at Seabeck and Naramata will affect your
conference cost. Housing is
now offered at "Tier One" and "Tier Two" levels, which more
closely reflects our charges from host facilities. Conference fees are per
person and include lodging, meals, and program for the entire camp.

What Happens at Eliot?
A
typical day at Eliot begins with a delicious family-style breakfast in the

Afternoon
Activities: Many afternoon
activities have become "traditions," and others come and go with the
interest of the participants. Favorites
over the years have been Yoga, Meditation, Arts and Crafts of one form or
another, Tie-Dying, and Workshops based on the expertise and interest of
campers. The summer offers
intergenerational swimming and boating, games and sports.
Winter camp offers inside games and events.
All camps offer opportunities for quiet time for reading, and some
campers hold firm to the tradition of “Sacred Siesta.”
Evening
traditions are interspersed with games such as To Tell The Truth, Theater Sports
and Encore, Talent Shows and Concerts. There
is always at least one dance. The
Eliot community is a safe place to stretch and practice your talent.
WORSHIP:
As a Unitarian Universalist community, we value the opportunity to
worship together. Evening Worship is
generated by campers and is a lively and inspiring mix of worship styles.
MUSIC is an important part of the Eliot tradition. We love to sing together, and opportunities to participate in or listen to music abound. The Eliot Choir welcomes all voices, practices each afternoon, and participates in the Concert and at other events. Many impromptu singing or instrumental groups form for their own enjoyment and to prepare for the concert or talent show. If you play an instrument, be sure to bring it along. It's worth coming to camp just to enjoy the music!
Eliot Institute is affiliated with the Pacific Northwest District of the Unitarian
Universalist Association and a member of the Council of
Unitarian Universalist Camps and Conferences (CU2C2).
